    Hi Bill!
I wish I had your ambition when it comes to reading!

Did you ever read "Divine Intimacy" by Fr Gabriel of St Mary Magdalene? It's certainly nothing heavy. I've been using it this year in my 'pseudo-Matins' in the morning. Over the course of these last eight months, it has helped me to have a more sustained desire for God. At 54, perhaps I'm just getting old, but I prefer to read for inspiration rather than knowledge nowadays. I need inspiration to help me be humble, to help me strive to maintain my my joy in difficult situations, especially the sudden, unforeseen ones.
I use an old Desclee copy, but I think Baronius has reissued it.

    Hope the family is well!

  2. Howdy, Walt! I've been remiss in answering your comment. I found an early 1960s copy of Divine Intimacy at a used book store decades ago, but, it being keyed to the old calendar, I didn't get into it til recently. I haven't hit it in a few weeks so I forgot it for my book list. It's back in the daily rotation now thanks to your reminder.
